Celebrity Big Brother’s Judi James on pet behaviour

There’s been no shortage of incidents in the Celebrity Big Brother house for body language expert Judi James to get stuck into this summer.

However, as well as spending her time analysing the behaviour of Gary Busey, writing books and running training courses and seminars, Judi is the owner of three cats and so the study of pet body language is naturally something that interests her.

She’s managed to find time to speak to Petplan about her love of animals and what she’s learnt about how to read her pets’ behaviour…

At Petplan we are extremely proud of our work with Hounds for Heroes – and we love catching up with them to hear all about the great work they do by providing specially trained assistance dogs to disabled men and women of the UK armed forces and emergency services.

For the past year we’ve been following the progress of Bunker – one of their trainee assistance dogs – as he gets ready to become fully qualified and make a big difference to someone’s life.

‘Like to Help’ microchip pets with Petplan and Blue Cross

Petplan have teamed up with animal charity Blue Cross to help their mission to microchip the pets of Great Britain – but we need your help.

To raise awareness of the importance of microchipping, we’re asking you to like our Help Blue Cross Facebook app and, for every 25 likes we get, Petplan will fund one microchip for a Blue Cross pet.

We’re aiming to microchip 1,000 pets by 31 July to help ensure far less pets are separated from their owners.

Since we last heard from Hounds for Heroes ‘puppy parent’, Grace Brandon, trainee assistance dog Bunker has started his advanced training. Here, Grace gives us an update on Bunker’s good work, and his growing popularity.

‘Since Bunker started his advanced training, he has been the centre of attention – mainly due to his affectionate nature and tendency to ‘fall over’ for a belly rub while being stroked!
